Cheat Meals!

Happy weekend everyone!

OK, lets say you agree with me that eating clean is a good idea, that you should be careful about what you put on your hips and belly errr in your mouth. So where does this end? Will you be driven crazy by someone with an orea slushee and start throwing grilled chicken breast at people from a clock tower?

The good news is that in your clean eating there is a place to cheat. Yes, here cheaters even win! Generally diets prescribe a cheat day or cheat meal. This allows you to go crazy within a controlled setting. Planning is the key to success, it's hard for everyone but you will thank yourself when you look at that six pack (not the one in your fridge).

Not only does the cheat meal fight off the onset of insanity, it also serves some helpful biological functions to help you in your clean eating plan. During the course of the week while you eat clean and work out, your body's store of glycogen (quick energy) gets depleted. Your cheat meal will resupply this for your, that's why the cheat meal is also called the re-feed.
The cheat meal also boosts your metabolism, the comparatively large meal you are eating throws a curve ball at your body. It's used to getting a certain amount of calories a day and your body finds balance--with the cheat meal it's forced to kick it up a notch to burn up those calories. You reap the benefit of that all week, who knew cheese fries could help you on the path to underwear model? Don't overdo it, but the cheat meal is a necessary and useful part of your clean eating plan. After you're done get your patoot back on the straight and narrow!
